JOB TITLE: I.T. Specialist III (Network), full-time position, Pending Legislative Approval
SCHEDULE: 8:30am-4:30pm M-F. May be requested to assist after hours, weekends, and holidays.
DUTIES: The work involves coordinating the operations and all aspects of a computer-networked environment. The incumbent is responsible for all phases of development, installation, operation, maintenance, and administration of hardware and software in a telecommunications/networked environment. This class differs from that of Information Technology Specialist II (Network) level of expertise required for designing, configuring, managing a wide-area-network and a virtual server environment. Work is performed under general supervision by the Deputy Director of Information Services with wide leeway for the exercise of independent judgment. Direct supervision and/or technical assistance is furnished to Information Technology Specialists of a lower level. Does related work as required.
GRADE: CSEA Grade 13; Schedule B-2 Entry Level Salary $24.83/hr.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State Registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field; , Information Technology, or closely related field and two (2) years of recent experience which must have included LAN, WAN or other network administration. OR
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State Registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or closely related field; , Information Technology or closely related field and four (4) years of recent experience which must have included LAN, WAN or other network administration.
