Swimming Pools & Bathing Beaches

in Chemung County are regulated under Subpart 6-1 and Subpart 6-2 of the State Sanitary Code respectively and are inspected on an annual basis as well as in response to specific complaints or incidents.  The inspection report is divided into two sections:    Red violations are considered to be public health hazards, are of a more serious nature and require immediate correction.  Blue violations are less severe in nature, but are still considered violations of the code and need to be corrected in an unspecified amount of time.
