2024 Distinguished Volunteers of the Year Awards Nominees

Dear Chemung County Residents,

We need YOUR help to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who selflessly contribute to the well-being of our community! Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care is excited to announce the commencement of nominations for the 2024 Distinguished Volunteers of the Year Awards.

This annual celebration aims to honor volunteers aged 60 and older who go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of others in our community. We want to recognize and appreciate their ongoing dedication, time, and talent, which significantly contribute to the betterment of our society. This awards ceremony takes place in May each year during our Older Americans Month Celebration.

Alternatively, you can contact Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care at (607) 737-5520 or email cmorton@chemungcountyny.gov for more information or additional forms.

We encourage nominations for individuals aged 60 or older who volunteer in various areas or focus their efforts on a particular cause. Whether they've dedicated their time to community programs, support services, or any other cause, all qualified nominees will be acknowledged for their outstanding contributions.

Nomination forms are due by February 5, 2024. Make sure to submit your nominations on time to ensure these deserving volunteers receive the recognition they truly deserve!

Let's come together as a community to identify and honor those exceptional volunteers who make Chemung County a fantastic place to live and age well. Your participation in this nomination process is so important, it helps us express our gratitude to those who tirelessly work towards the betterment of our age-friendly community.
