This morning, Executive Director of the New York State Sheriffs' Association, Peter Kehoe, presented Chemung County's Emergency 911 Center with a plaque recognizing their efforts in attaining accreditation status. Only 14 of the state's 62 counties have qualified for this accreditation, also referred to as PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point). I would like to thank 911 Director Douglas Houper, Accreditation Manager Daniel Mandell, Administrative Assistant Penny Arnold, Sheriff William Schrom, and the entire Emergency Management staff for their assistance in this effort.
Chemung County Public Safety now has attained accreditation in the following areas:
Law Enforcement - New York State Division of Criminal Justice Service
PSAP -New York State Sheriffs' Association
Civil Division - New York State Sheriffs' Association
Correction Division - New York State Sheriff's Association
Emergency Management Office - New York State
