RE: Notice of Conference- In Rem foreclosure proceeding for year 2020

Dear Real Property Owner:

                This matter is assigned to the Hon. Richard Rich, Acting Chemung County Court Judge.

Effective September 2, 2021 and in accordance with Administrative Order of the Chief Administrative Judge of the Courts (AO/26/21), a status or settlement conference must be held prior to conducting any further proceedings in any tax foreclosure matter. These conferences shall include settlement discussions regarding the rights and obligations of the parties in this in rem proceeding, including whether a litigant has the financial resources to pay the delinquent taxes owed on the above referenced parcel to Chemung County.

             The Court is available on July 6, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. for a settlement conference.  The conference will be held virtually via computer.  If  you are requesting a conference please contact the Court’s attorney, Samuel D. Castellino by email at scastell@nycourts.gov and you will be provided with a conference time and a link to access the conference. The last day to register is July 5, 2022.
