William E. Fairchild, Sr. was first elected to represent the residents of the County’s 9th District for a four-year term commencing January 1, 2015. He retired from the Chemung County Solid Waste Management District after twenty-five years. At that time, he was the Operations Manager for the landfill in Chemung. Bill has also served as the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Caton and as the gravel pit superintendent for Edger Enterprises. He has extensive experience operating many types of heavy equipment along with skills in welding, carpentry, mechanics, and major construction.
Bill’s educational experience includes certificates from the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute, the New York Water Environment Association, Inc., the New York State Department of Labor Safety for Front-Line Supervisors and Managers (1 & 2), the New York State Association for Solid Waste Management Landfill Operator Seminar, the Bell Leadership Institute, and the Niagara County Community College Corporate Training – General Industry Training (OSHA).
Expanding shared services programs to reduce property taxes, improving infrastructure (roads and drainage), cleaning up neighborhoods, controlling spending, and listening to the needs of his constituents are the priorities of his public service.
Bill is married to Andrea Pariso Fairchild, and he has two grown children (JR and Justin).
