The Chemung County District Attorney’s Office is initiating and sponsoring a program called Partnership For Neighborhood Justice, based upon the Federal Community Prosecution Program. Our goal is to prevent crime, actively and aggressively prosecute lawbreakers, promote the health and safety of the community and improve the quality of life in our community. Our partnership includes, among others, governmental agencies (District Attorney’s Office, police, parole, probation, city court, code enforcement and the fire department), businesses (retail stores, banks and real estate agencies), neighborhood organizations (neighborhood watch and churches), property owners and residents of our community. By obeying and enforcing laws, rules, and codes, promoting self respect and respecting rights and property of others, assisting and communicating with our neighbors, we can all make our neighborhoods great places to live in, raise a family and enjoy the benefits of our community. Increased enforcement of local and state laws and ordinances will be undertaken to promote the health and safety of the neighborhood. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
