Adult Protective Services (APS) is responsible for seeking to protect vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect or financial exploitation, while respecting the rights of adults with capacity to self-determination.
Adult Protective Services is a managed service that provides intake, investigation, and assessment of referrals of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of impaired vulnerable adults who live in the community.
APS serves individuals 18 years and older who, due to physical and mental impairments:
- are unable to protect themselves from abuse, neglect, financial exploitation or other harm
- have no one available who is willing and able to assist responsibility.
