Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care Public Hearing: “Homecare Options: Making Sense of it All”.
The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care will hold its Annual Public Hearing on Thursday, September 19th, 5:00 p.m. – 7:30p.m., at First United Methodist Church 1034 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY. A panel of department specialists and Deana Prest from the NYS Office for Aging will discuss the many aspects of homecare including:
- Recognizing the signs that support is needed
- Determining what help and support is needed
- Communicating with your homecare team
- How to pay for in-home care options
A wide variety of community agencies will be present to share information about their home care services and supports. Health insurance counselors will be available to provide eligibility screenings and application assistance for Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help paying for Medicare prescription drug coverage. Light refreshments will be served.
The Annual Public Hearing provides an opportunity for the public to hear about department services and plans for the upcoming year, and to share ideas about how the department can better serve our community.
