The Chemung County Health Department will hold open COVID-19 vaccination clinics over the next two weeks. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccines will be offered based on availability.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration amended the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to allow for use of a single booster dose, to be administered at least six months after completion of the primary series.

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible for a Pfizer booster dose through the Chemung County Health Department. You must sign an attestation form on-site stating that you meet the eligibility criteria.
- You are 65 years of age and older;
- You are 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19; and
- You are 18 through 64 years of age with frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 putting you at high risk of serious complications of COVID-19 including severe COVID-19.
- At least six months have passed after the completion of your primary two dose vaccination series.

These clinics accept walk-ins, but pre-registration is strongly recommended to reduce your time at the clinic. Registration links can be found on

Pfizer is a two-dose vaccine 3 weeks apart for anyone age 12 and older. A parent or guardian must be present to provide consent for individual’s 12-17 years old.

Moderna is a two-dose vaccine 4 weeks apart for anyone age 18 and older.

Johnson & Johnson/Janssen is a one-dose vaccine available for anyone age 18 and older. J&J vaccine is extremely limited not only locally but regionally and nationally. Availability is based on supply.

The Chemung County Health Department does not ask for insurance information or charge any fee for vaccination. Make sure you drink plenty of water and eat something before you arrive to the vaccination clinic. Masks are required to be worn at all clinics.
